很多很小的动词如:do, go, have, make, take等等,用起来却相当的活,下面举例说明:

Do

My homework, the dishes, the laundry

"I thought it was your turn to do the dishes," I snapped. "我想该轮到你洗碗了吧," 我怒气冲冲地说

Today is a good day to do the laundry. 今天是洗衣服的好天气。

Go

Bowling, shopping, dancing

Would you like to go bowling with us? 你要不要和我们一起去打保龄球?

Shall we go dancing for a change this time? 这次, 我们换换花样,去跳个舞好吗?

Have

A party, a good time, a lot of fun

He called his friends in and had a party. 他把朋友叫到家里来聚会。

We had a lot of fun at the picnic on the beach. 我们在海滩上野餐,趣味无穷。

Make

A (phone) call, the bed, some photocopies

I want to make a call to Mr. Smith at the telephone booth. 我要在那间电话亭给史密斯先生打个电话。

After getting up, I picked at the sheet, fluffed up the pillow and made the bed. 起床后,我拉平床单,拍松枕头,把床铺好。

I made two photocopies of the report. 我把这份报告影印了两份。

Take a day off, a vacation, a trip

Yesterday I took a day off to visit my parents in law. 昨天我请了一天假去拜访了我的岳父母。

I will take a 2-week vacation (extendable to 4 weeks) in Beijing. 我将在北京渡假2星期(也可延长到4周)。

It is worthwhile to take a trip abroad 到国外旅行是值得的。
